Ever wish there was one day reserved to celebrate your female friendships? Well let us at Al's Florist be the first to tell you - there is. It's called Galentine's Day, and you can thank NBC's Parks and Recreation for it. In 2010, the show's main character Leslie Knope takes all of her ladies out to lunch to celebrate their relationship, giving each special presents. The idea caught on in real life, and now groups of women celebrate Galentine's on February 13th. We here at Al's Florist are here for it - especially the gift-giving. We here at Al's Florist see no reason not to give both s and a gift when it comes to a get well offering. Flowers have been proven to have many health benefits, everything from oxygenating the air in hospitals to improving an ailing person's outlook such that they have lower blood pressure and use fewer pain meds. And gifts are gifts; while they may not be able to offer all of the healing properties of s or potted plants, they make a person feel special and thought of. Read More about A Get Well Garden »

While the majority of the rest of the country is shoveling snow from the driveway, here in Hollywood we're just hoping for a few days of seasonal weather. Outside it looks as it does in August or March, with no loss of green as far as the eye can see. Some of us would love to wake up to find the ground lightly dusted with snow (alas, that's unlikely to happen, given that the last snowfall in South Florida happened in 1977!).
We here at Al's Florist think that frosty palette is beautiful, so why not introduce it into your home, since you can't enjoy it outside? Read More about Glorious Blooms For Winter »

If there's one thing that gets us excited here at Al's Florist, it's the direction in which floral styles are headed for the coming year. We love our traditional arrangements and know they have an important place in the home and in the gift-giving tradition, but there's nothing like the excitement and interest new floral designs generate.
International Floral Distributors has released its predictions for 2018's design approaches, and though we love them all, we're enthralled by one in particular. Positively Posh is a floral trend that really speaks to us, and here's why. Read More about 2018 Floral Trend Alert: Positively Posh »

There are few games associated with the holiday season, but Secret Santa - and its countless variations - is one of them. This group gift swap is usually carried off in a workplace setting or among friends and involves randomly-assigned gifters and giftees. The person giving the gift must keep their identity a secret from the recipient, and that's where the fun begins.
At Al's Florist, we love a good gift exchange, and for Secret Santa, we've got some delicious gift options. Read More about Secret Santa Gifts That Delight »

Every hall deserves to be decked this year, including the ones at your office. While it may be tempting to set up a grand Christmas tree in your workplace entry, we at Al's Florist have a fresh idea for a tree that may be smaller in scale but is still high on impact. Oh Thanksgiving. A time when we come together around the fire, bundled up from the chill outdoors. A time when we gather the falling leaves into huge piles for jumping, scarves around our necks. A time when we look ahead to the long, dark, frigid winter months, and give thanks around the table for the more cheerful seasons that have just passed.
Just kidding. We live in south Florida after all, and none of those scenarios are likely to happen -- at least not quite the way they do up north. We still have Thanksgiving though, and while we may be wearing flip flops and eating on the patio by the pool, it's still a holiday feast, and we're still going to eat too much of it. And for that, we need a holiday table, full of plates and settings, napkins and glasses, and centerpiece s from Al's Florist, of course. Read More about Light and Bright Centerpieces »
